ErDELuftGRAsundreBEN Blaufränkisch 2021 Claus Preisinger | Burgenland

The ErDeLuftGRAsundreBen Blaufränkisch cuvée is one of Claus Preisinger's cuvées de garde. This is a very special parcel, rich in limestone, which produces wines that are more austere and tannic when young. Winemaking is carried out in amphora to soften the tannins as much as possible. Ageing is carried out in amphora and foudre for 6 months. No sulfur is added during the winemaking process.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This cuvée, with its strange, very long name ErDeLuftGRAsundreBen, is one of Claus Preisinger's finest achievements. The literal translation makes perfect sense, as ErDeLuftGRAsundreBen means earth, air, grass and vine. This is a 35-year-old parcel with extremely low yields of 25 hl/hectare. A magnificent cuvée for laying down that needs to be ideally preserved before tasting.

On the nose, the wine opens with notes of red fruit, cherry and ripe strawberry. There are hints of sweet spices such as cinnamon, as well as pretty violet notes.

The palate is fine, with great drinkability. This revitalizing wine is juicy, greedy and full of energy. On the palate, we find notes of red fruit, hints of kirsch cherry and a beautiful palette of sweet spices.
