Wine Description

The Paradigma cuvée from the Claus Preisingerwine estate is an atypical blend of 60% Blaufränkisch and 40% Merlot, mainly from limestone terroirs. The aging potential of this wine is simply incredible. Claus Preisinger estimates between 30 and 40 years, such is the depth, density and generosity of this wine. Winemaking is carried out in casks, as is the entire ageing process. Never new barrels!

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Paradigma cuvée is a crazy invention by Claus Preisinger, who had the audacity to combine a Bordeaux grape variety with an Austrian one. In the end, the idea is brilliant: Merlot gives the wine all the tannic structure it needs to age perfectly, while Blaufränkisch provides freshness and finesse. An ideal pairing that will reveal its full potential in at least 10 to 15 years.

On the nose, the wine reveals pretty black fruit notes, with hints of wild sloe. Floral and cedar hints are also present. A wine of great finesse and complexity.

The palate is racy, the tannins still a little tight, but they will soften with time to give way to a suave, delicate substance. The aromas on the palate perfectly complement those on the nose. Spicy notes and a hint of animality add personality to this Paradigma cuvée.
