Comte Abbatucci's Faustine Blanc cuvée is made from 100% Vermentino grapes . This cuvée is made from a parcel-by-parcel selection of 50-year-oldvines planted on granitic subsoils. The north-facing vines protect the grapes from the heat and any over-ripening, guaranteeing superb balance.
Philippe Mischler sommelier at Mundovin : The Abbatucci style is immediately seductive, with its intense aromas evoking the south and the sun. It's a wine that delivers itself with energy and elegance, while remaining pleasantly fresh. Ageing in vats for 6 months gives it a very spring-like character , and seduces throughout the tasting.
On the nose, the wine reveals notes of fresh laurel, wild mint and hints of anise, as well as ripe white peach and william's pear. A bright, energetic nose that makes you want to engage in the tasting.
The palate is bright and invigorating. It is sustained by notes of white fruit, to which are added hints of apricot, clementine and eucalyptus. The finish is enhanced by fine bitters that give superb length to this Corsican wine. A pure delight for the taste buds.
