Wine Description

Chiesa di Mare from the Comte Abbatucci estate delicately rounds out the estate’s maritime trilogy. Within this trilogy, the Monte Mare, Valle di Mare, and Chiesa di Mare vintages each express a distinct geographical facet of the estate. Made entirely from Vermentinu, this cuvée draws its essence from the historic Casalabriva vineyard, in the heart of the Taravo Valley, where the Abbatucci family has been cultivating a veritable conservatory of endemic Corsican grape varieties for a century.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Chiesa di Mare from the Comte Abbatucci estate truly embodies the finesse of Vermentinu. Light and graceful, this wine captivates with its purity and refinement, evoking the fresh air of the Corsican coast.

The bouquet unfolds with great floral finesse, almost suspended in the air, revealing subtle hints of maquis and sweet spices. This aromatic elegance highlights the purity of Vermentinu grown on coastal terroirs, sheltered from excessive sun exposure.

The palate extends this delicacy with a saline undertone that truly stretches the wine’s body. Fresh tension sculpts a delicate texture, while the lingering aroma echoes the nose and lends this white wine a rare refinement.
