Wine Description
Cyril Courvoisier ’s*Les Alluvions* is the wine estate’s most free-spirited cuvée, unbound by any appellation and crafted from the raw essence of the Rhône’s alluvial terroirs. This Vin de France is a blend of old-vine Syrah, Grenache, and Dureza grapes from the region’s alluvial terroirs. As with all his cuvées, Cyril Courvoisier practices certified organic farming, using shallow tillage of the soil, preserving hedgerows, and maintaining dry stone walls to promote biodiversity.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Cyril Courvoisier’s Les Alluvions is a supple, fresh, and authentic wine, designed for fine dining. While the wine estate’s single-vineyard cuvées impress with their precision and tension, Les Alluvions surprises with its rich, indulgent character and immediate drinkability.
The nose is direct and rich, driven by crisp red fruits, with notes of raspberry, red currant, and fresh cherry, as well as that subtle, precise herbal touch characteristic of the Courvoisier style—a signature that defines the wine without ever weighing it down.
The palate is characterized by its suppleness, freshness, and authenticity. The texture is smooth, the tannins are well-integrated, and the wine is both approachable and lively. A wine that delivers immediate pleasure, without any pretense.
