Domaine de Montille 's Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru overlooks the Montrachet hillside, on one of Burgundy's most renowned terroirs. The 0.23-hectare plot cultivated by Domaine de Montille extends over stony clay-limestone soil, where the deep roots of Chardonnay forge wines of uprightness and brilliance. The vines are grown organically and biodynamically, respecting the natural balance thatEtienne de Montille has been defending for decades. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, and carefully sorted before a slow, precise fermentation using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, to preserve its freshness and purity. This approach reveals the full identity of what is often considered Montrachet's finest Grands Crus .

Philippe Mischer, sommelier at Mundovin : It's hard to describe Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru du Domaine de Montille without falling into a profusion of superlatives. A Burgundy Grand Cru like one almost never tastes, with masterful balance, rare elegance and incredible depth. A jewel from Etienne de Montille, perfect in every way without being devoid of emotion, on the contrary. Its panache will carry it through the next decade and reward the most patient.

The nose reveals a complex register where citrus notes mingle with fresh almond and honeyed white flowers. A touch of warm stone and chalk accentuates the mineral dimension of the bouquet, while notes of orchard fruit and buttery aromas gradually open up. The whole exudes precision and harmony.

The palate mirrors the nose: splendid! The vertical acidity is underpinned by a controlled density of substance that expresses the strength of the vintage without betraying its elegance. Variations of citrus, white fruit and pastry aromas are combined with an elegant texture and a finish of subtle minerality and fine, noble bitters. A huge bottle.
