Wine Description

Domaine de Villaine 's Rully Saint Jacques comes from the eponymous plot. Situated at the foot of the hillside and facing east, this parcel lies just below Clos Saint Jacques, one of Rully's most renowned 1er crus. Here, the twenty-year-old Chardonnay vines are grown organically, with moderate yields to preserve the full ripeness of the berries.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: This mineral cuvée embodies the purity and precision of Burgundian Chardonnay. Its freshness and fruitiness testify to the care taken by Domaine de Villaine to ensure full ripeness of the grapes. To be enjoyed now after light aeration, or cellared for harmonious development over the next 4 years.

The nose reveals an expressive bouquet of white-fleshed fruit and acacia flowers. The aromas are pure, amplified by a light pastry note that fleshes out the whole nicely. A delicate nose, with seductively subtle summer scents.

On the palate, the wine opens with great elegance and balanced texture. The lively minerality effectively supports the warm aromas of ripe fruit. Between acid tension and roundness, the finish is intense, with almost vibrant notes of white pepper.
