Wine Description

Soleyane White | Camille and Mathieu Apffel Wine Estate

Nestled in the heart of the Alpine foothills, the Soleyane White cuvée from the Camille and Mathieu Apffel wine estate is the result of a steadfast passion. On the heights of Parves, facing the Bauges Massif and Lake Bourget, Camille and Mathieu cultivate their vineyards biodynamically with the precision of artisans and the intuition of independent winemakers. Up there, between sky and rock, the Altesse grape thrives on clay-limestone soils, drawing all its freshness and vibrancy from them. This cuvée, vinified as a natural wine, embodies their vision of authentic, unadulterated viticulture. The altitude of about 400 m refines the ripeness and preserves the natural acidity that delicately defines this wine. Camille and Mathieu Apffel did not set out to make a spectacular wine: they simply let the terroir speak for itself.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Soleyane is an Altesse that gets straight to the heart of the matter—no frills, just the essentials: crisp fruit, vibrant minerality, and that unmistakable energy. For me, it’s one of the finest examples of natural wine in Savoie. An exclusive cuvée that deserves the attention of lovers of crisp, easy-drinking Savoie whites.

On the nose, the wine unfolds a delicate palette of white flowers, fresh pear, and mineral notes reminiscent of wet chalk. The overall impression is precise and airy.

On the palate, the attack is lively and straightforward, carried by a perfectly balanced acidity. The wine unfolds with a fluid texture, featuring citrus and briny flavors. A hint of chalk adds structure to the long, clean finish, leaving an impression of unadulterated purity.
