Wine Description

Domaine de la Tournelle 'sArbois Trousseau des Corvées takes its name from the locality of Les Corvées, aboveArbois. This natural Jura wine produced by Evelyne Clairet is a pure Trousseau, whose organically grown, low-yield vines are rooted in a shallow terroir of Lias gravel and gray marl. The grapes are hand-harvested and de-stemmed to preserve maximum fruit and finesse, then fermented in open stainless steel tanks for between 10 and 30 days. Fermentation is triggered by indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged in old tuns for 12 months. Bottling is unfiltered and no sulfur is added.

Digestible, pure and natural, this wine reveals a gourmandise rarely found in a Trousseau. Certainly one of the finest cuvées of this Jura grape variety, to be enjoyed young or harmoniously aged!

On the nose, the wine is immediately seductive, with scents of wild strawberries, redcurrant jelly, hints of clove and a lovely peppery note typical of Trousseau.

The palate is incredibly fine, marked by an equally marvelous freshness. It's a very drinkable wine with intense aromatic depth. Stewed wild berries and fine spices are served by a patina of tannins and just the right amount of acidity. Precision and nature go hand in hand in this great Trousseau by Evelyne Clairet.
