Gourt de Mautens Blanc is a totally unusual white wine from the Vaucluse . A wine from the terroirs of Rasteau , composed of a wide variety of grape varieties. No fewer than 9 grape varieties make up the blend of this great white wine from the South of France.
The plots face north-west on marl and clay-limestone soils. They benefit from the cool mornings, as well as increased water retention capacity.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Jérôme Bressy is a talented winegrower who continues with conviction his practice of complantation to find a natural harmony between the different grape varieties and the terroir. He believes that the grape variety is only an intermediary for the terroir. For this reason, he has chosen to vinify this wine mainly in concrete and stainless steel vats, in order to assert its southern identity without the aromatic interference of wood.
On the nose, the wine isincredibly complex , with notes of toasted bread, quince confit, white peach, pear in syrup, not forgetting aniseed and pretty citrus notes.
The palate is incredibly dense and full-bodied, yet remarkably well-balanced. The wine never loses its freshness, revealing pastry notes. Hints of roasted almonds, star anise and magnificent bitters are highlighted on the finish. All without any wood ageing.
