Wine Description

Kévin Bouillet 's Pépin Rouge embodies the spirit of the Jura in all its finesse. With 80% Ploussard and 20% Trousseau planted on Triassic red marl soils in Pupillin, in the heart of the Arbois appellation, this wine illustrates the choice of a talented young winemaker to sublimate the emblematic grape varieties of the Jura. Winemaking is based on long maceration, using a respectful method that allows the pure expression of the fruit to blossom in a natural, fluid style. No technical detail obscures the authenticity of this Pépin Rouge, which sings with simplicity of the Jura terroir.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Kevin Bouillet 's Pépin Rouge captures the airy vivacity so typical of natural Jura reds. It seduces with its rare balance between delicacy, brilliance and depth. A cuvée that speaks for itself, without artifice, and which will evolve delicately in the cellar to deliver new nuances with time.

On the nose, this Pépin Rouge is immediately seductive in its grace: fresh cherries and an autumnal touch of undergrowth mingle with sweet spice, evoking the red soils of the Jura. A supple, precise bouquet without heaviness, true to the spirit of theArbois terroir. With a little opening, freshness reveals itself, supported by a light vegetal touch that prolongs the aromatic tension.

On the palate, the wine unfurls a fluid, silky texture, carried by fine, delicate tannins. The crisp texture, wrapped in controlled acidity, lets the red cherry and wild berry fruit express themselves with simplicity. The finish lingers on a slightly spicy note that invites the next sip. This light, persistent drinkability beautifully expresses Kevin Bouillet 's signature Pupillin terroir.
