Roc d'Anglade Rouge from Roc d'Anglade is a blend of Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault, crafted by Rémy Pédréno in the spirit of the great Pinot Noirs of Burgundy to reveal the very essence of his terroir on the limestone marls of Langlade, in the Gard region.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: This Roc d'Anglade Rouge from the Roc d'Anglade wine estate will immediately appeal to lovers of taut, vibrant, sapid southern reds. It's Languedoc Burgundy style, and Rémy Pédréno is fully aware of it!
The nose opens with notes of morello cherry, raspberry, sweet spices, garrigue and lavender. This sunny bouquet surprises with its freshness, far from the clichés of opulence.
On the palate, the full-bodied, fluid texture coats the palate with ripe tannins. The silky attack, a true hallmark of the wine estate, is quickly adorned with a mineral framework that stretches out the flavors of garrigue and black fruits. The juiciness of the blend gives the wine the energy and drinkability that make great wines for gastronomy as much as for immediate pleasure.
