Chasse Nuage 2022 Ludovic Archer | Savoie

Chasse Nuage is a cuvée made from the maceration of pinot gris, chasselas and jacquère grapes from the Ludovic Archer wine estate. A great success, with a powerful, mineral profile. This cuvée was first macerated for several days on skins to bring out its beautiful rosé hue, which gives the wine its aromatic character and light tannins. The wine is then vinified partly in vats and partly in old oak barrels. During the winemaking process, the wine is neither filtered nor sulfured.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Ludovic Archer recently started making maceration wine. Chasse Nuage is one of his "new cuvées", a little different from his "classic" wines. Its color is somewhere between pink and tile. An accessible wine for an easy introduction to maceration wines.

On the nose, notes of plums, beeswax, a hint of spice and a lovely freshness emerge from this maceration. The expression is clean and intense, with aromas of cumin, Morello cherry juice and rhubarb.

The palate is in the same spirit as the nose, with added notes of honey without the sweetness. The acidity stretches the wine out and makes it very easy to digest. A perfect wine for the summer season. The finish is mineral, chalky and salty.
