Michel Bouzereau et Fils ' Meursault 1er Cru Perrières originates from one of Meursault's most prestigious climats, renowned for the purity and tension of its wines. Here, Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils grows Chardonnay on clay-limestone and weathered marl soils, whose thick layer of pebbles ensures remarkable natural drainage. The vines are forced to plunge their roots deep into this stony matrix, which gives its name to the climate. Natural winemaking and ageing for 16 to 18 months in oak barrels, of which about a third is new wood, bring out the typical minerality of this renowned Burgundy terroir.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Not a Grand Cru, but almost, Meursault 1er Cru Perrières is a true masterpiece from Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils. Its mineral resonance and depth, underpinned by exemplary ageing, place it among Burgundy's finest references. This is a wine you must taste in your lifetime! If you're patient, wait ten years or so, and it will reveal all the fullness and nobility of the Perrières 1er Cru climate.

The nose reveals the delicate minerality typical of this cru, with airy accents of flint, gunflint and iodine. Opening the wine reveals the elegant aromas of white flowers, orchard fruit and fresh citrus fruit characteristic of Chardonnay, which patient ageing here enriches with hints of roasted hazelnuts and an empyreumatic, finely wooded structure.

On the palate, the wine impresses with its controlled tension and full body, whose generous volume settles in just right, balanced by the vertical minerality of the Perrières 1er Cru climate. Aromas of ripe yellow and white fruit, citrus peel and rubbed flint form a deliciously complex osmosis. The lingering chalky minerality of the finish sets up a spicy, saline persistence that promises formidable evolutionary potential.
