Wine Description

The Rully 1er Cru Margotés from Paul & Marie Jacqueson is a 75-are plot located in the southern part of the appellation on the Coteau des Blas. A flagship wine estate in the appellation, the Paul & Marie Jacqueson estate delights every palate by producing wines that are enjoyable in their youth as well as 1er Crus with aging potential.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Rully 1er Cru Margotés from Paul & Marie Jacqueson is a Chardonnay that holds its own against many of its counterparts from the Côte d’Or. It brilliantly combines remarkable balance, beautiful complexity, and lively mineral tension.

On the nose, spring-like aromas of jasmine, chervil, and lily blossom come to the fore upon opening, before hints of candied fruit, turmeric, and spicy nuances gradually unfold.

A lovely mineral character lends the wine a sense of verticality, with briny accents and notes of damp stone and humus that reflect the terroir. It’s an explosion of ripe white fruit carried by a mineral purity on the finish, making this a wine of beautiful complexity and remarkable length.
