Wine Description

The Champagne Solera of the domain R.Pouillon is derived from an assembly of 18 successive vintages. This way of assembling still wines allows us to give a timeless view of the terroir without having the influence of vintages. This champagne comes from a first raw mix of Mareuil on Aÿ composed of 50% of Pinot Noir 50 per cent Chardonnay. Champagne spent more than four years on slats.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Solera of Fabrice Pouillon is one of the cuvées i prefer. It is also the one closest to the champagne style that I love. Winey champagnes, complex and high precision. A little like champagnes of Jacques Selosse, the reference in this area which today is very difficult to access, both in prices and in supply.

On the nose, the wine is very open on very slightly oxidative notes very pleasant. The aromatic complexity is immediately present at the opening. The wine expresses on hints of vanilla pear, fir bud, honeysuckle and a hint of lemonberry.

The mouth is just as complex as the nose with hints of cinnamon, white pepper and nice notes of dried apples. One champagne wine from a gourmet and unique balance who blindly touches the greatest champagne winemakers, i assure you.
