Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay from Racines Wines is one of the cuvées resulting from the collaboration between Étienne de Montille, Brian Sieve, Rodolphe Peters and Justin Willett. Created from a blend of prestigious parcels in the Santa Rita Hills appellation, including the La Rinconada, Wenzlau and Bentrock vineyards, this wine brilliantly illustrates the quartet's excellence. On these terroirs, characterized by ancient, complex marine soils and a cool climate influenced by the Pacific Ocean, Chardonnay acquires mineral tension, aromatic purity and remarkable elegance.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: This Californian Chardonnay bears the undeniable stamp of Domaine de Montille and Peters Champagnes. Racines Wines manages to capture the very essence of the alliance between the freshness of the Santa Rita Hills terroir and the precision of Burgundy and Champagne. Its saline minerality, liveliness and finesse make it a wine of great elegance, capable of rivaling the finest whites of the Côte de Beaune. A real "coup de coeur" for lovers of racy, chiselled Chardonnay.

The nose exhales summery scents of fresh citrus and white flowers. A touch of white pepper and flinty minerality add complexity to an already seductive bouquet.

On the palate, the attack is lively and precise. Citrus fruits are found on the tonic flavors of candied yuzu zest. The acidity is balanced by ripe white-fleshed fruit aromas. The finish is long, with marked minerality and great purity. A remarkably expressive and refined cuvée.
