Racines Wines Santa Rita Hills Sainte Rose is one of the most emblematic cuvées in this transatlantic collaboration orchestrated by Etienne de Montille. The Pinot Noir vines, grown organically along the Santa Rosa Road, come from the prestigious parcels of La Rinconada and Rancho La Viña. The winemaking process, which respects the fruit, includes fermentation with indigenous yeasts, partial destemming and 18 months ageing in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new, giving the wine remarkable complexity and elegance.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Santa Rita Hills Sainte Rose 2022 is a Pinot noir of great finesse and structure. The Racines Wines hallmark shines through admirably in this cuvée, between the typicality of the Santa Rosa Road climate, from which the cuvée takes its name, and the precise winemaking of Domaine de Montille. Made from a selection of the finest barrels from the La Rinconada and Rancho La Viña vineyards, this wine reflects the quintessence of California terroir.

On the nose, a basketful of fruit emerges straightaway. Ripe aromas of black cherry, plum, blackberry and blood orange exude an appealing greediness. Hints of sweet spices and dried iris add elegant complexity, promising a fine evolution.

On the palate, the wine is velvety, with a fairly dense attack, but full of remarkably pure flavors. Red and black fruit intertwine with notes of nutmeg and orange zest. A fine, lively acid structure leads to a long, elegant finish. This is a wine that stands out as much for its character as for its refinement.
