Wine Description

Domaine Roucas Toumba 'sVacqueyras La Grande Terre is a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Mourvèdre. The vines are planted mainly on slopes of sandy limestone. Only the Mourvèdre is planted on a terroir of rolled pebbles.

Like the Les Restanques de Cabassole cuvée, yields are low (around 25 hectoliters per hectare). The aim is to preserve only the quintessence of the grapes.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This cuvée La Grande Terre is a micro-cuvée of just 7,000 bottles , with a profile that reflects the work ofEric Bouletin. A lively, deep wine with incredible density and freshness. All the grapes are destemmed and vinified in concrete vats, then aged for a minimum of 8 months. A Vacqueyras that will delight lovers of full-bodied, fleshy, tannic wines.

On the nose, the wine expresses itself with intensity and precision. There are notes of undergrowth, white pepper and a hint of chocolate. This is clearly a Vacqueyras made with Eric Bouletin's Roucas Toumba signature.

The palate is fleshy, dense, powerful and singularly balanced. Mushroom, spice and black fruit notes form a coherent whole that reflects the authenticity of the La Grande Terre terroir.
