Cornas "La Chapelle Saint-Pierre" from the Alain Voge wine estate is a cuvée from the steep hillsides of Cornas, with their exceptional terroir surrounding the Chapelle Saint-Pierre-aux-liens, 400 meters above sea level. A pioneer in the development of high slopes, Alain Voge has demonstrated that the unique combination of altitude and granite soil can produce wines of great freshness and elegance, while preserving the typicality of Syrah. Production is limited to 2000 bottles and a few magnums.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : La Chapelle Saint Pierre comes from old Syrah vines grown biodynamically on pure granite soil. The steep, southeast-facing slopes favor slow, even ripening of the grapes, giving the wine remarkable aromatic complexity and freshness. Yields are controlled to guarantee optimum quality, while high planting density ensures berry concentration.

On the nose, the wine opens with lovely notes of black cherry, violets, and hints of spice and blackcurrant. There are also hints of smokiness and a hint of bacon, giving this Cornas its distinctive identity.

The palate is ample, juicy and phenomenally powerful. It's a pleasure to rediscover the aromas of black fruits, complemented by a beautiful smoky, spicy imprint. On the finish, a fine acidity reveals itself, bringing length and elegance.
