Long description
The Pierre Morey wine estate is located in Meursault , in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Today, it's a legendary Côte d'Or wine estate with a presence in some of the world's finest establishments.
Let's start with a little history, since the Morey family is part of Burgundy 's historic "heritage" . In 1935 , Pierre's father Auguste, a former tenant farmer with the Comtes Lafon, had the good fortune and opportunity to work in the vineyards of the Meursault Genevrieres, Charmes and Perrières grands crus .
Then, in the 1980s, the Lafon family decided to hand over all vineyard work to Dominique Lafon. It was at this point that the Morey family decided to start a high-quality wine merchant business.
In parallel to his work on the family estate, Pierre Morey had the great honor of being appointed to oversee the vines and winemaking at the famous Anne Claude Leflaive wine estate . He was recruited by Vincent Leflaive, who saw great potential in him. It was at this time that he met Claude and Lydia Bourguignon, the world's leading soil specialists, who were to prove decisive in his life. It was a shock that convinced him to encourage the microbiological life of the soil, and to respect the humans and animals that make our earth so rich. So, for over 20 years, he worked alongside Anne Claude Leflaive , developing biodynamic viticulture on both estates.
Today, he works alongside his daughter Anne, to whom he has passed on his know-how for over 20 years. Their philosophy is to make wines that are as representative of the terroir as possible. The wines are very classic in style, but extremely precise and above all vibrant. He is certainly one of the finest white wine producers in the Côte de Beaune. His know-how is as unique and incomparable as his wines.
