Domaine Weinbach's "Pinot Noir Le Jardin aux Oiseaux" cuvée is a refined expression of Alsatian Pinot Noir, reflecting the unique character of the Vogelgarten terroir and the estate's ancestral know-how. The locality of Vogelgarten, meaning "Bird Garden", lies between the Furstentum and Mambourg Grands Crus. This south-facing mid-slope terroir lies on ferruginous oolitic limestone soils.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Acquired in 2019, the parcels are farmed organically and biodynamically, with short pruning to limit yields. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum phenolic maturity. Winemaking includes 50% whole-bunch harvesting, pre-fermentation cold maceration for a maximum of one week, followed by classic maceration for around two weeks with fermentation by indigenous yeasts. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in used Burgundy barrels.

The nose opens with subtle aromas of red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry, accompanied by spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as earthy nuances reminiscent of undergrowth and damp leaves.

On the palate, the wine offers a silky texture with delicate tannins and well-balanced acidity, bringing freshness and elegance. Ripe red fruit flavors are enhanced by hints of mushroom and lightly toasted wood, leading to a long, harmonious finish.
