Bourgogne Rouge "Les Crays " is an exceptional cuvée produced by Julien Guillot at Clos des Vignes du Maynes, a historic wine estate dating back to the time of the monks of Cluny and biodynamically farmed since 1998. This 40-acre parcel is located in the Mâconnais on a chalky terroir, ideal for revealing the finesse and purity of Pinot Noir.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The vines, around 40 years old, are carefully cultivated according to biodynamic principles. Hand-picking is accompanied by rigorous sorting on the vine and in the cellar, guaranteeing selection of the best berries. Winemaking is carried out in whole bunches, with semi-carbonic maceration lasting around eight days, followed by 12 months' ageing in old barrels, to preserve the typicity and authenticity of the terroir. Like all our red wines, this wine is bottled without added sulfur or filtration.

On the nose, "Les Crays" reveals a seductive bouquet of fresh red berries such as raspberry and cherry, enhanced by subtle floral touches and sweet spices. A hint of chalky minerality adds complexity to this aromatic profile.

On the palate, the attack is straightforward, with a silky texture that envelops the palate. Dominant flavors of crisp red fruit mingle with delicate nuances of undergrowth and white pepper. A saline, salivating minerality, typical of the chalky soil, blends harmoniously into the whole, offering a sensation of freshness and superb tension.
