Domaine de la Tournelle 'sArbois Ambre de Savagnin is a Jura rarity by Evelyne Clairet. On the finest plots of the wine estate, the Savagnin vines plunge deep into the marl soils to extract all their nutrients, developing a characteristic aromatic fullness. After rigorous organic care, the grapes are harvested by hand, with de-stemming in the plot. Fermentation is initiated by indigenous yeasts, before the wine macerates for 6 months on the must. Ageing for 18 months in toasted barrels gives this cuvée a personality that is out of the ordinary in Arbois. The special feature of this cuvée is that the grapes were macerated for a long time (around 8 months) and then aged in oak barrels for 18 months. The result is the quintessential expression of the Jura.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine de la Tournelle 'sArbois Ambre de Savagnin is a nugget of curiosity from the finest Savagnin parcels on the wine estate. Its phenomenal aromatic power is the result of a particularly masterful long maceration process, in which all the talent of the Domaine de la Tournelle is to be found. Certainly the finest toasted Savagnin in the Arbois appellation!

On the nose, the wine reveals bewitching aromas of apple and quince jelly, fresh wax and candied orange. Perfectly balanced, it promises to be a superb tasting experience.

The palate is indeed remarkable, combining with masterly balance the powerful aromatic complexity of Savagnin with textural suppleness and astonishing vivacity. The material delivers a delicate tannic sensation, taking the wine to an interminable finish of refined and elegant bitters.
