Wine Description

On this Vin Jaune from Domaine Ganevat, the winemaker's signature style is expressed in all its uniqueness: where others play on raw power, this Savagnin under veil retains an extraordinary freshness.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Vin Jaune from Jean François Ganevat seduces with its power and perfect harmony between the richness of candied fruit, the complexity of spices and dried fruit, and the tension of the blue marl terroir. This is a wine with a thousand facets, a model of intensity and persistence that can be tasted as much as contemplated.

The nose opens with a palette of roasted dried fruits, clearly distinguishing walnut, hazelnut, almond and cashew. Superb notes of floral honey, apricot marmalade and leather add to the bouquet. Progressive aeration reveals ever more olfactory layers and complexity, between baked apple, sweet curry, cardamom, orange blossom and candied ginger.

On the palate, the fullness of the material and the energy of the acidic structure flatter the wine's aromatic complexity: curry spices, stewed orchard fruit, candied citrus, Florentine cookie and white flowers all blend together with remarkable clarity and incomparable length.
