Chasselas C de Marrin from the Les Vignes de Paradis wine estate is made from very old vines located to the east of Thonon les Bains. The soil is very stony, with alternating pebbles and granite depending on the location. Unlike the other two Chasselas cuvées, Un P'tit Coin de Paradis and Un Matin face au Lac, this cuvée is much more mineral in character. Dominique Lucas therefore logically chose to age the wine in demi muids and concrete eggs to provide maximum oxygenation and prepare it for bottling. This is the wine in the range that needs time to blossom.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Chasselas Marin is one of the best Allobroges wines I've ever tasted. It's a far cry from the style of the famous Ardoisières wine estate. It is distinguished by a unique freshness and an authentic expression of terroir that is simply sublime. The age of the vines has a lot to do with it, giving the wine an aromatic depth worthy of the greatest Savoy wines. A great favorite that we never tire of sharing with our acquaintances.

The nose is pure and elegant, as is always the case with Vignes de Paradis wines. The extra minerality is very distinct. The wine needs a good decanting to fully express itself.

The palate is crystalline, fresh and straightforward, with notes of granny smith apples, preserved lemon and grapefruit. Beautiful bitters finish the mouth in apotheosis. A great Savoy wine.
