Lise et Bertrand Jousset Renards 2018 | Loire

Domaine Jousset's Montlouis sur Loire Clos aux Renards is made from 100% Chenin vines grown on Aubuis clay-limestone soil. The exposure of the vines and the typicality of this soil give this wine a singular character. Yields are tiny, reaching no more than 20 hectoliters per hectare in the most generous years.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Clos aux Renards cuvée is the brainchild of Lise and Bertrand Jousset , who recognized the enormous potential of the parcel and created a unique cuvée, hence the name Clos aux Renards "Singulier". A clearly gastronomic Montlouis sur Loire that reveals ample body, intense minerality and, above all, remarkable length on the palate.

On the nose, the wine is greedy, with hints of apricot, quince and peach. Mineral notes gradually reveal themselves with oxygen. A touch of humus emerges , bringing freshness and originality to this superb Loire wine.

On the palate, the attack is bright and full of energy. The aromas of the nose are repeated, with an added touch of minerality. The complexity and freshness of this wine make it one of the finest that can be tasted from the Chenin grape .
