Long description

Domaine Lise et Bertrand Jousset was founded in Montlouis-sur-Loire in 2004. The 11-hectare vineyard is planted with vines ranging in age from 5 to 100 years , and is farmed organically, with some plots following biodynamic principles. Work is carried out solely by hand and horsepower, with no mechanization.

The Jousset couple work Chenin on 9 hectares, Chardonnay on 1 hectare, Gamay, Grolleau and Pinot Noir on 1 hectare. The 27 parcels are mainly located in Husseau, with a few in St Martin le Beau and Lussault.

In the cellar, we work in a very natural, low-intervention way, with juices flowing by gravity and slow, gentle pressing. No inputs are used, apart from minimal doses of sulfur at bottling. Winemaking is carried out in 225-, 400- and 600-liter barrels, with a maximum of 10% new barrels so as not to mark the wines.

We've fallen in love with Lise and Bertrand Jousset's wines, which are particularly straightforward, gourmand, elegant and precise. In particular, the Premier Rendez-vous, Clos aux Renards and Les Audouines cuvées are great Loire whites not to be missed! Or the cuvée Exilé, an absolutely gourmet 100% Pinot Noir.
