GPS "Vin blanc d'Antan" 2022 Domaine Pignier | Jura

Domaine Pignier's GPS is a cuvée de complantation composed of 40% Gamay blanc (Jura chardonnay), 40% Poulsard (without pellicular maceration) and 20% Savagnin, with a very limited yield of between 20 and 30 hectolitres per hectare.

Like all the other cuvées on the wine estate, we use biodynamic viticulture to ensure the authenticity of our wines. This cuvée is aged and vinified without the addition of sulfites or any other additives. It is bottled 7 months after harvest, according to the lunar calendar.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at mundovin: Domaine Pignier is one of the very best wine estates in the Jura , even if it's not the most sought-after. This cuvée GPS, their first wine, is both generous and fresh. The soils, composed of marl and clay, allow the 3 grape varieties to ripen beautifully.

On the nose, the wine opens with floral notes of elderflower, honeysuckle and lime blossom. Fruity notes emerge after a few minutes of oxygenation. Notes of mirabelle plum, ripe apple and quince. A first impression that is both greedy and fresh.

On the palate, the attack is rather round, without too much acidity. Lovely notes of yellow fruit are complemented by hints of honey and a hint of menthol, which adds great freshness. A superb alternative to Burgundy wines.
