The Trousseau from Domaine Pignier in Montaigu is simply masterful. It is one of today's finest Jura wines. The vines are located in the heart of the Montaigu hillsides. The soil is composed of limestone, sandstone and marl. Yields are kept to a minimum in order to draw the best from the terroir (28 hectoliters per hectare). Winemaking is carried out according to lunar cycles, in demi-muids for over 10 months. No filtration is carried out to preserve the wine's fruitiness and freshness.

Philippe Mischler sommelier at Mundovin: The Trousseau cuvée from the magnificent Pignier wine estate in the Jura region still boasts fine notes of red fruit and a spiciness typical of Trousseau. Biodynamic viticulture gives this Trousseau great depth. It's a pity that this type of grape is not promoted in restaurants or wine shops. These are wines with great personality, perfectly suited to French gastronomy.

The nose is intense, with notes of red and black fruits. It's both dark in aromatic expression and luminous thanks to the freshness that emerges, bringing clarity and precision.

The palate is juicy and fleshy, with spicy notes and a hint of rusticity. Hints of licorice slip delicately into the greedy substance. The tannins are superbly integrated, bringing a sanguine side to the wine.
