The 1769 Rosé is an iconic cuvée that perfectly embodies Clos Venturi’s mission : to reveal the soul of Corsican grape varieties in their finest expression. Located in the heart of Corsica, at an altitude of 400 meters, Clos Venturi’s wines benefit from a unique microclimate and granitic soils that allow the Sciaccarellu grape to express itself with great finesse. The result of meticulous work on the vineyards and in winemaking, the 1769 Rosé bears witness to the resurgence of quality in Corsican viticulture. Clos Venturi, a pioneer in biodynamic agriculture on the island, leaves its distinctive mark on this wine.
This gastronomic rosé was conceived as a true terroir wine. Far from summer clichés, it offers a precise and sincere interpretation of Sciaccarellu, Corsica’s iconic grape variety. This variety lends the cuvée all its vibrancy, freshness, and natural elegance, revealing a distinct personality, without excess or artifice.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The 1769 Rosé Clos Venturi is one of the most expressive rosés I’ve tasted in recent years. It has the true qualities of a table wine, capable of accompanying a meal from start to finish. It is a rosé with character and structure, and I am impressed by its ability to combine aromatic frankness, balance on the palate, and energy.
On the nose, the wine reveals light and subtle aromas. First, you’ll notice delicate notes of wild strawberries and fresh raspberries, followed by hints of fresh citrus, with pink grapefruit taking the lead. In the background, a floral, slightly briny touch adds an extra layer of very appealing freshness.
On the palate, the attack is smooth and precise, with a texture that is both silky and taut. Fresh red berries emerge elegantly, accompanied by a hint of aromatic herbs. The briny finish provides lovely length. This is a perfectly balanced wine that combines immediate pleasure with the potential for surprising food pairings.
