Wine Description

Antoine Sanzay 's Saumur Champigny La Paterne is the wine estate's first cuvée, designed to be much more accessible when young. It is a wine of pure fruit produced from magnificent plots of Cabernet Franc. A juicy, greedy, fruity, easy-drinking wine that will undoubtedly appeal to lovers of intense yet light wines.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The cuvée La Paterne was created by Antoine Sanzay with the aim of offering a wine that's easy to enjoy in its first few years, which isn't necessarily the case with his other wines, which require a minimum of 1-2 years' cellaring to start drinking.

On the nose, the wine opens the door to a garden of dried flowers, like a pot pourri. It's both very elegant and very greedy. There are also hints of black fruit and a touch of black pepper, but not an ounce of vegetal, which is remarkable.

The palate is just like the nose, insanely elegant and exceptionally drinkable. There are lovely touches of black fruit and a hint of balsamic. The finish is long and easy-drinking.
