Robert-Denogent’s Bourgogne Aligoté is made from a grape variety that has long been underappreciated, but which Nicolas and Antoine’s passion has elevated to a remarkable level. All too often relegated to the role of a supporting player,Aligoté has found winemakers here who take it seriously. The grapes arrive in whole clusters, are pressed immediately, and then distributed among various containers—barrels, demi-muids, concrete or stainless steel tanks—depending on the specific characteristics of each terroir, with ageing on fine lees for at least two winters.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Robert-Denogent’s Bourgogne Aligoté is characterized by its intense freshness. Nicolas and Antoine don’t rank their cuvées, and you can really tell—even in the Aligoté. It’s straightforward, balanced, and crisp, with aromas of lemon and mandarin that are as refreshing as they are surprising. It’s a wine of pure pleasure, without compromise.

Aromas of zesty lemon, grapefruit, and acacia blossoms come through with disarming candor. A crisp, luminous aromatic intensity that immediately bears the wine estate’s signature.

The grape variety’s natural acidity structures the wine with precision, carried by notes of honeysuckle and citrus. The palate is crisp, mouth-watering, and lingers into an appetizing finish.
