Wine Description

The Faust cuvée from Domaine de l'Ecu is an atypical cuvée, as it is made from Chardonnay. In fact, this grape variety is not historically present in Muscadet terroirs. Fred Niger chose to plant it because he found the terroir perfectly suited to this grape variety. The Chardonnays are planted on perfectly oriented orthogneiss soils, then destemmed and macerated for 7 months in amphora.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Faust cuvée from Domaine de l'Ecu is a surgically precise no-sulfur-added cuvée. It's a highly sought-after wine for lovers of gourmet wines, rich and mineral at the same time. It will charm lovers of orange and white wines eager for new discoveries.

On the nose, notes of beeswax, a hint of spice and a lovely freshness emerge from this maceration Chardonnay. The expression is clean, mineral and very greedy. A very pure first olfactory approach.

The palate is in the same spirit as the nose, with the addition of notes of honey without the sweetness. The acidity stretches the wine's length and makes it very easy to digest. A perfect wine for the summer season. The finish is mineral, chalky and salty.
