Wine Description
Domaine de Terrebrune 's Terreblonde cuvée is a small revolution in the heart of Bandol's emblematic terroir, where Reynald Delille's wine estate has spent three years crafting a cuvée designed to offer balance and freshness. Here, the Trias limestone dictates the rhythm and character of the Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault vines. Grown organically and guided by biodynamic practices, the plots benefit from a singular energy, between the softness of the Mediterranean and the rigor of the limestone soil. The grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimum ripeness. Winemaking favors infusion maceration, a gentle process that gently extracts aromas while preserving finesse and freshness. Short ageing is then carried out in stainless steel vats, demi-muids and concrete eggs, an assertive technical choice at odds with Bandol criteria, which brings both purity and complexity, allowing the wine to express its natural minerality.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The new Terreblonde cuvée from Domaine Terrebrune is a light expression of red Bandol, where the power of Mourvèdre blends with the delicacy of Grenache and the finesse of Cinsault. More free and uninhibited in its style, this wine is a pleasure to drink. The saline freshness of the Trias limestone terroir, combined with gentle winemaking and careful ageing, create a balance between roundness and tension, making this wine both approachable and elegant.
On the nose, the wine opens with a vibrant bouquet of juicy red fruits, enhanced by a fine touch of pepper. Delicate notes of cherry and raspberry mingle with a subtle mineral imprint evocative of Bandol's limestone terroir. The aromatic freshness invites discovery, gradually revealing an elegant, limpid palette.
On the palate, the wine is fluid, mouth-watering and thirst-quenching, true to its promise. Carried by a framework of precisely proportioned acidity, the red fruit flavors continue with a mineral finesse that leads to a lingering, salivating finish.
