Nicolas Reau'scuvée La Descente Aux Amphores is a wine made in a very special way. The grapes are first macerated for 8 months on their skins in Georgian amphorae, which are then buried in the ground and aged for a further 12 months to extract maximum aromas.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The cuvée La descente aux Amphores is a pure Chenin from a terroir of sand and pink schist in the commune of Saint Radegonde, south of Anjou. It's one of the only terroirs in the appellation to benefit from this type of soil, a real boon for Nicolas Reau.

The nose develops pleasant notes of citrus and lightly candied fruit. A touch of bergamot and lemongrass emerges after a few minutes of oxygenation. Maceration brings a very interesting exuberance that makes you want to go on tasting.

On the palate, the wine is pure and fresh, with lacy acidity. The pink schist terroir reveals a minerality that remains present throughout the tasting. The palate is greedy and lively at the same time. The aromatic palette is varied and well-balanced.
