Domaine Tempier's Bandol La Migoua is one of the rare parcel-based cuvées from this iconic Provence wine estate. Its terroir nestles on the southern slopes of the Beausset-Vieux massif, on a high plateau exposed to the southern sun and Mistral wind. The predominantly clay and shell limestone soils give this unusual blend of Mouvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache Noir and Syrah both power and freshness.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine Tempier's Bandol La Migoua is one of the appellation's finest wines, and one of my favorites. I fell in love with it on the very first tasting, and the subsequent tastings have only strengthened my love for it. Its powerful, sun-drenched, gourmet profile conceals an extraordinary freshness and balance, which will keep for a very long time. A complex wine that reveals all the uniqueness of its terroir!
The wine reveals notes of leather, black pepper and ripe fruit. Slightly smoky and toasty touches mingle to form a harmonious nose.
The palate is magnificent, with the impression that the fruit has been gorged with sunshine. Leathery notes, rustic and refined, are particularly present in the Mourvèdre grape variety. The ageing potential is immense: wait at least 10 years after bottling and you'll be tasting a veritable bomb, I assure you!
