Long description

Domaine Henri Milan is a historic Provence wine estate and a true benchmark for natural wines.

The Milan family has a long history of producing some of the finest wines in Provence. It all began in 1956 when Robert Milan bought the property in Saint Rémy de Provence, which at the time had no vineyards whatsoever.

The wine estate really took off in 1987 with the arrival of his son Henri Milan, who was determined to produce the healthiest wines possible. His conversion took place in 1988, and two years later the Milan wine estate released its first sulfur-free wine , a far cry from the standards of the time.

He also met Claude Bourguignon, one of the world's leading soil biologists, with whom he experimented with numerous grape varieties to enhance the personality of his wines.

Today, it's Théophile Milan, Henri's son, who looks after the vines and winemaking with the same energy as his father, and the same determination to produce wines with superb balance.

The cuvées that for us most reflect the work carried out by the entire Milan family over several generations are the Grand Blanc and the long-awaited Clos Milan, which has finally seen the light of day after an absence of almost 5 years.

These two cuvées are obviously made for laying down and are not afraid of the passing years. Both wines can easily be kept for more than 20 years, but what's fabulous is that they already taste perfectly well when young. Unquestionably one of Provence's finest natural wine estates.

Please note: It's important for us to point out that the Clos Milan and Grand Blanc cuvées are wines of great stability. Our philosophy is that one cannot exist without the other. A wine must be alive, vibrant and give pleasure and emotion, but above all it must have no bad flaws.
