Wine Description

Domaine Adrien Berlioz 's cuvée Euphrasie is one of the winemaker's most personal and vibrant expressions of the Chignin-Bergeronappellation. Biodynamically cultivated on the heights of Arbin in Savoie, this Roussannecuvée pays tribute to the winemaker's great-grandmother, symbolizing transmission, patience and respect for natural rhythms. Perched at an altitude of over 400 metres, planted on limestone scree and facing due south, this small parcel of just 35 ares is an exceptional alpine terroir. Here, old Roussanne vines deliver a pure, chiselled wine, both light and intense.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : With Euphrasie, Adrien Berlioz has created a cuvée of remarkable precision and complexity. A veritable Savoy nugget, it's a gourmet Chignin-Bergeron, immersing us in poetic Alpine freshness, which will gain even greater expression after 2-6 years' cellaring.

On the nose, the wine reveals pure, complex aromas, the sign of a perfectly ripe harvest. Notes of white flowers and lime blossom, lemon zest and orchard fruit intertwine subtly. Accents of roasted almond and gunflint round out this vegetal bouquet.

On the palate, the texture is slender, vibrant and salivating. Straightforward, perfectly integrated acidity structures the whole, revealing the finesse of the grape variety and the uniqueness of this Savoy terroir. Ageing in acacia barrels makes itself subtly felt. The finish is long, almost saline, and leaves a crystalline imprint. A sensation of fresh air!
