The Grand Zeph cuvée from the Adrien Berlioz wine estate is undeniably a great Chignin-Bergeron wine . The young Roussanne vines are planted on the silty limestone slopes of Les Côtes, the warmest in the area. On these crumbly , south-facingrocks , the slope in places can exceed 40%. A terroir with strong character, which is reflected in the wine.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The cuvée Grand Zeph is one of the great cuvées produced by Adrien Berlioz, in homage to his grandfather. This particularly warm terroir is ideal for Roussanne, forging a wine with full-bodied aromas and outstanding minerality. A nectar to be savored by the lucky few. In our opinion, this is the finest cuvée on the wine estate.

On the nose, the wine expresses all the complexity of its terroir: ripe yellow fruit mingles with dried fruit, sublimated by floral notes of lime blossom and hibiscus. A hint of curry and deep mineral aromas of chalk and smoke complete the picture.

The palate is richly structured and complex. Its generosity is supported by superb freshness and perfectly balanced minerality. The greediness of the fruity and almond aromas intensifies as the tasting progresses. The finish returns with great tenderness on mineral notes of chalk, which prolong it admirably. One of the greatest Savoy wines, and certainly the best Chignin-Bergeron.
