Wine Description
Domaine Adrien Berlioz 's cuvée Rosais a benchmark in the Vin de Savoie PDO. This wine epitomizes the winemaker's sensibility for deep, delicate mountain reds. Made from old Mondeuse vines grown biodynamically on the schist slopes of Arbin, this cuvée is an ode to finesse and elegance, far removed from the rustic expressions sometimes associated with the grape variety. In 2024, the harvest was particularly careful, with slow, balanced ripening, enabling this vintage to deliver a subtly spicy, floral and airy version of Mondeuse.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : With Rosa, Domaine Adrien Berlioz offers us a tasting moment filled with freshness and gourmandise. The partially de-stemmed harvest and cold maceration in stainless steel vats have a lot to do with this. Ageing for 6 to 8 months in demi-muids is perfectly controlled. A wine of finesse and restraint, marked by elegant tension and savory persistence. Enjoy it young for its aromatic freshness, or after a few years for greater depth.
The nose opens with a refined, precise palette of violets, wild berries and jammy plums. Delicate woody, rustic touches appear with aeration, reflecting the authenticity of this Savoy terroir, and the delicacy of winemaking without artifice.
On the palate, the wine seduces with its fluid, taut texture and fine, smooth tannins. The freshness is vibrant, almost vegetal, before moving on to juicy, delicate fruit. The balance between fruit, acidity and minerality is remarkable, sublimated by the slender, slightly woody finish.
