The Mâcon Cruzille Clos des Avoueries Calcaire du Château de Messey is the southernmost parcel of the Clos, which consists almost exclusively of compact limestone slab with only 10 cm of red clay on the surface. This is the wine estate's most mineral and crystalline cuvée, a wine of great purity!

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Clos des Avoueries cuvée Calcaire is the wine with the most vivacity and tension of all the wines from the wine estate. It has a purely mineral profile, structured by ageing perfectly mastered by Château de Messey. The doses of added sulfur are always very low.

On the nose, the wine shows great finesse and elegance. Pleasant notes of white flowers, with hints of clementine and bergamot. There's also an intense mineral expression with notes of flint, rock water and pencil lead.

Incredibly fresh on the palate, with intense hints of minerality. The wine becomes more powerful as it progresses, revealing hints of licorice and smoky notes. The finish is very fine, with a beautiful salinity that makes you want to go back for more.
