Wine Description

The Saint Nicolas wine estate's red amphora cuvée is a pure Négrette located on schistose-clay terroirs with some quartz. The vines are on average 25 years old. The yield of the biodynamic vineyard is very low, around 20 hectoliters per hectare. This voluntary limitation enables us to obtain grapes with a higher concentration of aromas and greater typicity.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The cuvée amphore created by Thierry Michon is vinified naturally for 5 months in clay amphorae, preserving its purity. A highly successful Négrette that showcases the expertise of the Saint Nicolas wine estate and will definitely take you off the beaten track.

On the nose, the wine opens with magnificent notes of red fruit, floral and empyreumatic touches. This beautiful expression is supported by a touch of menthol that adds finesse.

The palate is utterly charming, oscillating between notes of ripe red fruit and hints of white pepper. The tannins are incredibly velvety, giving great depth and delicacy to this cuvée vinified in amphora.
