Cuvée Les Rochais from the Saint Nicolas wine estate is one of Thierry Michon's prestige cuvées. The Chenin vines are planted on south-east-facing chalky-clay terroirs. Yields are tiny for this cuvée , rarely exceeding 25hl/ha. Winemaking is carried out without sulfur in Stockinger tuns for 12 months.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Cuvée Les Rochais is one of the most exotic and precise wines in the Saint Nicolas wine estate range. It stands out from Thierry Michon's other wines for its fullness and fatness. A gastronomic wine that seduces with its complexity and precision.
On the nose, the wine reveals notes of quince, white flowers, smokiness and hints of gunflint. The wine expresses itself with superb intensity and, above all, with great refinement.
The palate opens with scents of passion fruit and coriander. The minerality is very present and intensifies throughout the tasting. The texture is very silky, perfectly balanced with acidity and smoky notes.
