Wine Description
Marc Delienne 's Fleurie À mes Papas is a soulful cuvée in the world of Beaujolais wines. Created as a tribute to Alain Graillot (of Crozes Hermitage) and Éloi Dürrbach (of the famous Domaine de Trévallon), two renowned winemakers who guided Marc Delienne in his apprenticeship, it reflects both the human links and the terroirs of Fleurie. The vines are planted on gently sloping, sandy loam soils with a south-easterly exposure, where the Gamay grape draws its freshness and purity. Domaine Marc Delienne 's vines are biodynamically cultivated, and the grapes are harvested entirely by hand, with rigorous selective sorting. For this cuvée, the grapes are cooled to 5°C in a cold room, before being gently fermented in concrete vats saturated with carbon dioxide and maintained at 8°C. Ageing lasts 11 months, divided between concrete vats and large foudres, to preserve the purity of the fruit while giving real character to this Beaujolais wine.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : À mes Papas by Marc Delienne embodies the deliciousness of Gamay on the refined terroirs of Fleurie. This Beaujolais wine stands out for its ability to combine fruitiness and elegance, immediate charm and the promise of pleasure over many years. The Domaine Marc Delienne style is immediately apparent: natural and easy to read, with as much personality as sensitivity.
On the nose, the vibrant expression of fruit dominates, between crisp raspberry and pulpy cherry. A delicate touch of violets and rose petals mingles with tangy accents of blood orange. The whole is limpid, light and pure, inviting to savor.
The palate is velvety, delicate and enveloping, supported by airy acidity and satiny tannins. The fruit aromas are juicy and precise, while a fine tension gradually lengthens the wine through to the finish, marked by an elegant verticality.
