A highly talented Sicilian winemaker, Arianna Occhipinti crafts wines that have become benchmarks around the world. This oenologist creates wines that embodythe identity of their terroir with natural grace and style.
The first time we tasted her wines, we quickly realized we were dealing with a true heavyweight in the world of winemaking. Her philosophy is clear: Arianna seeks to create much more than just good wines— she aims to create wines that speak of the land where they were born and that also speak of her. All the vineyards are cultivated using organic farming methods.
We now consider her a truly great winemaker for the simple reason that she creates natural wines that evoke emotion while remaining accessible to “more traditional” palates. Isn’t that precisely why her wines are so irresistible?
Among her reds, her Frappato wines are exemplary. She uses this native grape variety to aptly convey the nuances of her fabulous terroirs in Vittoria. Her first wine, nicknamed SP68 —which is also available as a white—is highly recommended. Her 100% Nero d’Avola “Siccagno” is also a model of its kind.
The three exceptional Vino di Contrada cuvées—Pettineo, Bombolieri, and Fossa di Lupo, nicknamed PT, BB, and FL, respectively—are all made from 100% Frappato and represent the Frappato single-vineyard plots.
The white wine production is more limited but no less irresistible. The two cuvées are Santa Margherita, nicknamed SM, and the must-try SP 68 Bianco!
With spring just around the corner, these wines are a perfect fit for the season.
